This image is a medium shot, he is in the right of the frame so he is the first thing we see. He is in the centre third which suggests he is not a particularly dominant character, also he isn't making any eye contact with the audience so there is no attempt to encourage a relationship. The mise en scene of the image is interesting, he is wearing basic clothes and his hair isn't done perfect and neat which gives the image a relaxed feel, which could suggest to the audience that this is what they should expect from his music. The fact that there is no eye contact from the person makes them seem vulnerable also the frame is slightly closed and dark; the light shining through the back of the tunnel is like a spotlight on a stage, this could be representing fame and fortune but because the person has got his back turned to the light it makes us think that he doesn't make music for that reason and that he does it because he and his fans enjoy it and that he doesn't want masses of fame.

This research has helped me decide on what images to think about using in my own magazine. After looking at the first image I have decided that for my front cover I would like my model to have quite a dominant pose, I will have them positioned slightly to the left of the frame with their eyes in the top third to show dominance and power/control of the audience. I have considered them looking up with their nose slightly in the air so that they look arrogant and as if they know that their music is off a high standard and sells well, their costume will reflect their music genre. The location will most likely be outside or in the photography studio. For the contents page I would like to have several different shot for the main stories featured in the magazine, these will feature a variety of different models, shots, location and mise en scene. For my double page spread I would like to use a similar style of image to the one on my front cover except it will be of a different person and is more likely to be a long shot, it will be outside.
